@Dave: I've seen this video too. As you can see now in my next post I've bought a Kinect and I'm also interested by it 3D reconstruction potential. In my opinion the best way to reconstruct a room is to move the Kinect around instead of using multiple of them. But you'll have to track feature while doing this and this is not an easy task ! You can check the <a href="http://www.robots.ox.ac.uk/~gk/PTAM/" rel="nofollow">PTAM</a> project for an example of live mapping. Concerning the web model viewer, I've no idea (models are big and we need 3D acceleration with GPU to display them). Maybe with the Html5 canvas 3d tag ?
@Pierre: Now you can see me with an horrible colored mask in my Kinect demo too !

Hey Henri,
Thanks for posting this. I'll be sure to check out the updated toolkit this weekend.
I was wondering if you'd seen some of the 3D video reconstruction people are doing with the hacked Microsoft Kinect (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttMHme2EI9I&feature=related). Any thoughts?
Also, any ideas on a way we could all post our 3D models online? It's nice to check out videos of people's work, but even nicer to check out the actual 3D models (for those who want to share theirs).
I'll post on the new photogrammetry forums but thought this might be a place to do it since everyone will swing by.
